New 420 kV transmission line and new main station for the Stavanger region approved.

The building of a new 67 km long 420 kV transmission line from Ryfylke to Stavanger has been approved. At a cost of 200 mill Euros, the new power system once in operation around 2024, will significantly increase the access to green electricity for the Stavanger / Nord Jæren region. Statnett, national grid operator in Norway, will be responsible for the project. In addition to the Statnett station, local grid operator Lyse Nett will construct new transmission lines and an electrical substation in sync with Statnett.
